Tamar Zalk is an expert in program development and strategic communications with over seven years’ experience in frontier markets across the Middle East and Asia. She has delivered national and international communication campaigns to a diverse range of governments and organisations creating real change and impact.
Tamar has led strategic development and deployment of attitudinal and behavioral change campaigns on issues including good governance, elections, youth engagement, women’s empowerment and health in both conflict and post-conflict societies. Her client base includes Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The US Embassy, USAID, DFID, FCO and a number of governmental and non-governmental entities.
Prior to joining Lapis, Tamar worked with Turquoise Mountain Foundation and Development Alternatives Inc. (DAI) in development and managerial roles affording her an extensive background in analysis, design and development of tactical communications strategies. Tamar’s deep subject matter knowledge has allowed her to provide substance to her client’s larger objectives when providing strategic and creative solutions.
She holds a Masters from Georgetown University, and received the National Security Education Program’s Boren Fellowship. She is proficient in both Arabic and Spanish. Tamar will be leading business development for Lapis initiatives across the region’s most complex geo-political, cultural and social markets.
