Samim has over six years of experience in program development and implementation. His responsibilities as program manager at Lapis includes close implementation, coordination and monitoring of the projects, liaising with clients, monitoring and advising on risk to projects’ implementation and daily financial management. His portfolio includes civic education and regional cooperation programs, for which Samim consults with civil society, media outlets and government stakeholders.
Prior joining Lapis, he was a business development training consultant at Danish Refugee Council and has done a market study in four different markets of Afghanistan in order to develop sustainable SME activities for refugees, returnees and internal displaced people, during which he has developed business training manuals and materials for the beneficiaries of the program. He has managed several grants and contract across a wide range of sectors including education, entrepreneurship, employment and civic education in Afghanistan. He is obtaining his MBA at American University of Afghanistan and holds a bachelor degree in Economics from Kabul University. He is fluent in Dari, Pashto, Urdu and English.
