Raphaëlle focuses on fostering Lapis’ growth across the Afghanistan-Pakistan region. As a core team member, she combines extensive on-ground experience in the region with best practices from her work in the private and public spheres.
Over the last two years, Raphaëlle has led strategic communications and public awareness programs across Afghanistan, including major Countering Violent Extremism initiatives, human trafficking, gender and community policing programming. During this time, she developed extensive on-ground expertise in quantitative and qualitative research, strategy development, production, media outreach, and program evaluation.
Prior to Afghanistan, Raphaëlle worked in communications and media with Havas Worldwide in New York before turning towards a specialization in security studies and extremism. This included analyzing politics and insecurity drivers for a major risk consulting firm that operates across the Sahel and North Africa, as well as serving in the French Ministry of the Interior.
Raphaëlle holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science and a Master’s of Strategy, Intelligence and Risk Management, from Sciences Po Lille. She also earned a postgraduate certificate in classical Arabic and cultural studies from the Contemporary Arab Studies Department in Cairo, Egypt. She speaks fluent French and English, along with conversational Spanish and Arabic.
