Melinda is a research and strategic communications expert who has worked in non-permissive and post-crisis environments for over 6 years. She has successfully led strategic communications campaigns in Asia, Africa and North America for a diverse range of government, private sector and NGO partners. Her areas of focus are economic growth, urban planning, governance, women’s empowerment, and conflict stabilization.
Melinda currently manages a large portfolio of multimedia campaigns for Lapis including youth education, public health and countering violent extremism programs. Clients include USAID, UNICEF, and the US Embassy. She is a dedicated program manager always searching for creative and innovative solutions to meet client needs.
Prior to Lapis, Melinda was with USAID in Afghanistan for over 4 years where she led public awareness and communications campaigns for a robust portfolio. Her work has also focused heavily on monitoring and evaluation. As former Monitoring Division Lead, she is credited with significantly improving USAID’s performance reporting and developing innovative monitoring tools. Melinda’s unique background also includes leading major research studies for the Rand Corporation, World Bank and Habitat for Humanity, as well as technical production experience for Warner Brothers and other Hollywood studios. She holds a Bachelor’s in Media Communications and Master’s in International Development Planning.
