Jawed is a seasoned film maker, director and producer, with over 6 years of experience in Afghanistan and beyond. Over the course of his career he has produced award-winning and internationally-recognized documentaries, including "Addicted in Afghanistan", a documentary examining child drug addiction in Afghanistan, which received four awards and over 20 nominations globally, including Best Director at the Asian Film Festival in Singapore.
Aside from his documentary production experience, Jawed also has significant journalistic experience, and has been responsible for capacity building and technical training of journalists in Kabul. He has also held roles as a news producer, and a freelance journalist in the UK. In 2012, Jawed also worked as a production manager in a German feature film called "In-between Worlds", directed by Feo Aladag, which further reinforced his international experience.
Jawed has a degree in computer animation from the University of Teesside England and a Masters in Film Directing from Paris International Film School EICAR. Jawed is fluent in English, Dari and Pashto.
