Isra Rehman is a Senior Program Associate at Lapis Communications, where she has been responsible for Lapis’ largest accounts across the GCC region.
Isra has vast experience in managing all aspects of a project life-cycle from research, strategy development, media analysis, and conceptual development to implementation, reporting and evaluation on issues such as: global health, education, cross-border relations, child radicalization and reputational protection and enhancement. Isra also launched and manages Lapis' first international Graduate Program.
Her current portfolio includes diverse organizations like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi, and the National Media Council, Saudi Arabia’s largest media house Rotana Group as well as other UN agencies and governmental and non-governmental organizations.
Prior to joining Lapis, Isra taught Arabic to non-native speakers and represented the views of young people as a Youth MP for the UK Youth Parliament. Isra also dedicated a great portion of her time to travel, having visited: Sudan, Yemen, Syria, Egypt, Saudi, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and the UAE in order to understand the complexities of the regions and gain a local knowledge of the markets she wished to work in later in life. Isra graduated from Oxford University where she attained a Masters degree in Oriental Studies and acquired a BA in Arabic and History from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. Isra also studied Arabic at Alexandria University in Egypt and Damascus University in Syria. Isra speaks fluent Urdu and intermediate Farsi.
