Gabriel has extensive experience in the for-profit and not-for profit sectors. He has managed a diverse portfolio of Grants, Cooperative Agreements, and Contracts funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the United States Department of State, and Private foundations. Gabriel has detailed knowledge of sponsor regulations, financial administration; compliance; and procurement. He has also provided field-based support in the areas of finance, subcontracts, procurement and operations.
Prior to joining Lapis, Gabriel worked with the Institute of International Education (IIE) and Development Alternatives Inc. (DAI). He graduated in 2006 from the University of Virginia with a double major (B.A.) in History and Latin American Studies and holds an M.A in Human Rights from the University of Essex. He is fluent in Spanish and has traveled extensively throughout Latin America, Western Europe and Afghanistan.
