Fatema Mahboby is a seasoned media buyer, with five years of communications experience and a deep, long-standing commitment to human rights. Through her personal and professional work, she continues to support women in raising their voice against violence. As Media Buyer, Fatema oversees the planning and placement of commercials and public service announcements for a variety of Lapis clients in both the private and public sectors.
Fatema has a strong foundation in politics and law and a steadfast dedication to contributing to Afghanistan’s leading professional organizations. She has worked through all facets of communications from public outreach to media relationship management to script writing and production management. Prior to joining Lapis, Fatema held a legal global rights fellowship in Kabul, supported the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) as a women’s rights trainer in the Logar province, and worked in the Afghanistan Independent Election Commission as a legal advisor and communication analyst. She has also worked as a gender consultant and advocacy manager with organizations of local, national, and global scale alike.
She holds BA degree in Law and Political Science from Kabul University, and certificates in global rights, legal fellowships, prosecution, and the English language. She is fluent in Dari and Pashto, and has strong working command in English.
