Benafsha Faizy has extensive experience in public relations, strategic communications and capacity building. At Lapis Afghanistan, she is responsible for coordinating communications projects working closely with the production, creative, digital and media teams to implement effective campaigns. Most recently she has coordinated campaigns on rural development, health, women’s rights and civic education.
Prior to joining Lapis, Benafsha supported national development programs with the Government of Afghanistan, UNDP and USAID. In her communications role with UNDP, she oversaw the development of public awareness initiatives on gender equality, producing multimedia materials including print, radio, television and digital components. She also played a critical role in building partnerships between other UN agencies in-country. Working with the Government Media and Information Centre (GMIC), she developed training manuals for local journalists across Afghanistan, organising a series of large regional workshops to deliver the trainings to journalists and provincial and ministerial spokespersons.
Benafsha has a degree in Journalism from Kabul University and speaks fluent Dari and English.
