Abdulmuain Azan is leads Lapis in Yemen. He manages social development campaigns in a number of critical sectors including on Yemen’s transition, elections and voter registration and youth empowerment.
He has worked extensively in the field of development, politics and media. During the last six years he was with the US State Department in Sana’a, working to support the development of youth and civil society in Yemen, gaining invaluable insights and an extensive network across the country. Before that he worked as a Senior Program Officer at the National Democratic Institute (NDI) supporting the development of political parties, Yemeni parliament and grass roots civic education. From 2002 to 2005, he worked in a production role with Yemen TV, the nation’s public TV station.
Abdulmuain has a Bachelor’s degree in French Literature from Sana’a University, is a native Arabic speaker and speaks fluent French.
